Clockify is a capable, low-cost time tracker. If you bill consulting hours against purchase orders, need EN 16931 e-invoices and want your data in the EU without choosing a plan for it, Consulting Cockpit fits that job.
The client pays against purchase orders, but the tracker only knows projects. Someone matches them by hand before every invoice.
A PDF invoice is fine for some clients. More and more German companies ask for an EN 16931 e-invoice such as ZUGFeRD.
A client's vendor review asks where your timesheets are stored, and the answer should not depend on which plan you bought.
When a client disputes an hour, you need to show who changed it and when. That record should be there from the first day.
The same tracking habits, with the consulting parts built in.
A live timer or hours drawn on a week calendar. Several timers can run at once, one per client, and every entry is billable or not.
Each client gets a framework agreement with purchase orders, each with a cap, period and rate. Hours are matched to the valid order; nothing is billed past the cap.
A timesheet locks its hours, and one button builds the invoice draft. It is checked against EN 16931 and issued in ZUGFeRD.
Every change to time entries, salaries and leave allowances is logged with who and when, on every plan.
Clockify details from its own website, checked on 30 Sep 2026: pricing, data regions, about, invoicing. Prices and plans change; check theirs before you decide.
An honest list, so you can decide quickly.
Clockify is free for up to 5 users and its paid plans start at $3.99 per seat a month. We cost more, and there is no free plan.
Clockify schedules people, forecasts projects and records expenses. We record and bill work that is done, and we do not track expenses.
Clockify offers a clock-in kiosk, attendance reports and location tracking. We are built for consultants billing clients, not for shift work.
Clockify lists SOC 2 Type II and ISO/IEC 27001. We hold neither; the ISO certificates in our setup belong to our providers' data centres.

As of September 2026 Clockify uses a global region by default; Pro and Enterprise plans can choose the EU (Germany), UK, USA or Australia, and some account data may stay outside that region. Consulting Cockpit stores all data within the EU/EEA on every plan.
CAKE.com Inc., which lists its address in Palo Alto, California. Consulting Cockpit is made by GRAN Software Solutions GmbH in Berlin.
Clockify's invoicing page did not mention EN 16931, ZUGFeRD or XRechnung when we checked in September 2026, so ask Clockify if you need them. Consulting Cockpit produces EN 16931 invoices in ZUGFeRD and checks each one before it can be finished; XRechnung for public-sector clients is not supported yet.
Clockify costs less per seat: free for up to 5 users and paid plans from $3.99 per seat a month on annual billing (September 2026). Consulting Cockpit costs €69 a month for up to 5 users or €149 for up to 20, billed annually, without VAT, with every feature on every plan.
No, and we do not claim it. The ISO certificates in our setup belong to our providers' data centres; our own commitments are in the data processing agreement you sign.
Not automatically: there is no importer for Clockify data today. You add your clients, agreements and team, and start tracking from the first day.
